The Iowa High School Athletic Association released 2021 and ’22 football schedules on Monday. Greene County is in Class 2A and will play eight regular season games starting with a road contest on Aug. 27 vs. ACGC in Guthrie Center. The home opener is on Sept. 3 with Perry in the annual Battle for the Cowbell, followed by another home home on Sept. 10 with Kuemper Catholic (Carroll). District 8 play begins on Sept. 17 in Urbandale vs. Des Moines Christian, followed by a road trip to Clarinda on Sept. 24. The Rams are at home with Red Oak on Oct. 1, and host Shenandoah on Oct. 8. The regular season ends in Osceola vs. Clarke Community on Oct. 15.

The top four teams in the district will advance to the playoffs starting Oct. 22.
