The Paton-Churdan Junior/Senior Prom is this weekend.
The “Masquerade Ball” will kick-off with the public invited to view the decorations at the P-C School from 6:30-7:15pm. The grand march will then take place from 7:15-7:30pm in front of the school, followed by pictures from 7:30-8pm. Dinner will be from 8-8:45pm, followed by the dance from 8:45-11pm. After-prom will end the evening from 11:15pm-2am.
Junior Class Vice-President Madison Grow talks about how they came up with this year’s theme.
“At the beginning of the year we were just kind of talking about general themes like the ‘Wizard of Oz’ and things like that. Then I was just kind of sitting there one day and Mrs. (Annie) Smith was giving us this speech about how prom was going to kind of play out, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, what if we did like ‘Masked Ball’ or a ‘Masquerade’ or something like that, with just how the year has gone with wearing masks and stuff like that.”
Junior Class President Camryn Paup says after-prom will have a casino-like theme with games and prizes to be given away. Those that can’t attend or who don’t feel comfortable attending the grand march in person can view it online via the school’s Youtube page.
