Monday, April 19th
1:45am: An officer spotted a youth riding a skateboard down East Lincoln Way Street. The officer spoke to the juvenile about being out after curfew. The officer transported the juvenile to her residence and spoke with her parent. Grace Holinski, 17 of Jefferson was cited for, “Curfew Violation.”
7:37am: An officer investigated a Two Vehicle Property Damage Accident in the 1000 Block of West Wall Street. A 2011 GMC K2500 Truck, owned by Mike Dennhardt of Rippey and driven by Jerry Dennhardt of Jefferson, was pulling out of a private drive. Dennhardt crossed over into the oncoming lane as he pulled onto Wall Street and struck a passing vehicle. The 1994 Chevrolet C1500 Truck was owned and operated by Robert Knight of Jefferson. The Knight vehicle had a reported $5000.00 in damage, while the Dennhardt vehicle had a reported $3000.00 in damages.
9:55am: Carl Behne reported a Fraudulent Claim had been made under his name with Iowa Workforce Unemployment. He needed a police report for the officials dealing with the false claim.
10:14am: An officer assisted a deputy with a Traffic Stop in the 1700 Block of North Elm Street.
8:53pm: An officer assisted the Sheriff’s Office by investigating a Car vs. Deer Accident near 1579 235th Street. A 2009 Pontiac G6, owned by Donald Knight of Jefferson and operated by Ricky Knight of Jefferson, struck a deer in the roadway. The vehicle had a reported $500.00 in front end damages. The officer dispatched the deer.
9:01pm: A caller advised of a possible Intoxicated Driver sitting in a vehicle behind 606 Hwy. 30 East. The officer and a deputy searched the area, but did not locate the reported vehicle.
10:07pm: Leslie Chothen spoke to an officer about a Civil Child Custody Issue occurring in Jefferson.
