If the weather cooperates, Greene County High School has track & field, soccer, and golf, today.
The Rams are scheduled to host their Ram Invitational Coed Track & Field Meet at Linduska Field in Jefferson starting at 4:30 p.m. Greene County found out Saturday it has five events that qualified for the Drake Relays in Des Moines this Thursday, April 22. Juniors Nathan Black, Bryce Stalder, and Jackson Morton, teamed up with senior Jaxon Warnke to made the field of 16 in the shuttle hurdle relay, and the Rams are the only Class 2A program to qualify in that event. Individually, Stalder qualified in the long jump, Black in the high jump, and Morton in the 110 meter high hurdles. The lone Greene County girl to qualify is senior Brooklynn Olson in the shot put.
Greene County is set to play soccer with Harlan Community. The girls go to Merrill Field in Harlan and the boys host the Cyclones at Karber Field in Grand Junction. Greene County is 0-3 in girls’ soccer and 4-2 and ranked number 12 in 1A in boys’ soccer.
St. Edmond of Ft. Dodge is today’s scheduled golf opponent with the girls at the Lakeside Golf Course north of Ft. Dodge and the boys at Jefferson Community Golf Course.
