Planting season is upon us, which means more farm implements will be on the roadways.
Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams reminds motorists as the planting season begins to be aware that the vehicles are slow-moving and can be unpredictable when they could turn into a field drive.
“So just make sure you’re not passing near a field drive. A lot of them are fairly large equipment, so they have to do wide turns. So they will turn out (into the opposite lane). So just make sure you’re passing them in a safe zone, a passing zone that’s not near an intersection or a field drive.”
Williams adds most farm implements have several safety indicators, including slow-moving signs, four-way flashers, a yellow beacon on top and turn signals.
