
An Indiana man faces multiple felony charges from a series of incidents in Stuart last month.
According to the department, 21-year-old Kenya Jenkins, Jr. was arrested in Omaha, Nebraska in connection to a series of alleged vehicle burglaries that took place in Stuart on March 12th. During the incidents, police reported several items were stolen, including credit cards, a checkbook and a firearm from three unlocked vehicles. The police department notes that the firearm was later used when Jenkins allegedly shot an Omaha Police Officer.
Jenkins faces charges from the vehicle burglaries, including a Class C Felony for trafficking stolen firearms, three aggravated misdemeanors for third degree burglary of a motor vehicle, an aggravated misdemeanor for unauthorized use of a credit card, two serious misdemeanors for third degree attempted burglary, a serious misdemeanor for fourth degree theft and a simple misdemeanor for fifth degree theft.
Jenkins was arrested and remains in the Douglas County Jail in Nebraska under a $10 million bond. Stuart Police say the investigation is ongoing at this time and more charges are possible. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
