Greene County High School girls’ golf coach Josh Carlson started the season with seven girls, but on Tuesday, only two played at the Ballard Golf Course near Huxley. It was an 18-hole event with Woodward-Ganger shooting 436 and Ballard (Huxley) at 439.
The two Rams were Alex Miller and Brianna Habben. Illness and injury prevented the Rams from having the minimum four it takes for a team score. Miller shot 52-52=104 while Habben was at 62-60=122. Coach Carlson said conditions were windy and chilly with a high of 50 degrees. Miller was just three shots behind the medalist and one from being runner-up medalist. He added Habben’s second nine was her low score so far this season. “Overall, I was pleased, but we need to get healthy to compete as a team.”
