The Perry Chamber of Commerce’s radio pie auction took place Tuesday with Raccoon Valley Radio and raised a substantial amount of money.
Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says there were 11 pies which were auctioned off Tuesday morning. This was Pasutti’s first time doing the radio pie auction with the Chamber and says the outcome was good.
“Overall, a great success. Very exciting to see so much support from the community and to raise some money for the fireworks.”
The total from the 11 pies was $6,050 with some of the pies going for more than $1,000 towards the fundraising goal of $12,500 needed for the Fourth of July celebration in Perry. Pasutti says they have reached that goal.
“It’s very exciting that we have actually made that goal here, it’s April 13th, and we have made our goal. Normally it is down to the wire (in) May, June are we going to get there, no we are not but we got close.”
Pasutti says she is thankful to all the volunteers that helped to make the radio pie auction happen and all those who bid on the pies as well as the makers of the pies.
