The Guthrie Center School Board recently approved a resolution to push forward to continue an initiative.
Superintendent Dennis McClain says the Board approved a resolution to consider a resolution for the continuation of using the instructional support levy. He explains the instructional support levy is for expenses that would normally be used from the district’s general fund.
“So that could be teacher’s salaries, programming for kids, curriculum, any of those types of items. This is an ongoing program. It’s been around for several years, and so it’s just a continuation. It’s not in addition of anything to what we’ve been doing in the past. It’s just a continuation of the same program that we’ve been doing.”
McClain adds, the instructional support levy is made up for property tax and income surtax. The Board will consider final approval of the resolution at their regular meeting later this month.
