The Perry Chamber of Commerce’s Big Boom Bracket Battle had a winner decided yesterday.

The Grand Finale Duo competition was between Shaun Welch of Welch Construction and Courtney Straker from Great Western Bank. The winner of the pie in the face was Shaun Welch and Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says both competitors raised more than $1,000 just this week alone.

Pasutti says throughout the Big Boom Bracket Battle, which raises money for the Fourth of July celebration in Perry, more than $6,400 was raised towards the final goal of $12,500. While this fundraiser is wrapped up the pie auction at Raccoon Valley Radio will take place next week to also raise money for the celebration.
