A daycare facility in Panora will be expanding its facility and taking on more children.
The Little Panther Daycare and Preschool of Panora have announced a 1,440-square-foot expansion to its current facility. The project was aided by local donations and loans, including a $184,674 grant through the newly established Future Ready Iowa Child Care Challenge. The non-profit organization also received two zero-percent interest loans from Guthrie County Rural Electric Cooperative of $150,000 and $100,000 loan from Panora Teleco.
The construction will begin shortly and will allow for an additional 15 children to be added. Little Panther currently averages 54 children ranging in age from 4 weeks up to 12 year olds. A capital campaign is currently underway to capture the $10,000 matching funds needed for the state grant, as well as purchasing required equipment for the new addition.
