Farmer-owned Landus Cooperative recently celebrated its fifth anniversary.

The corporation was first established in 2016, following the merger of Farmers’ Cooperative and West Central Cooperative. Since then, Landus has renovated multiple facilities, opened a beef feed center in Jefferson, upgraded its agronomy fleet, launched a Landus-branded soybean seed, created a customer portal and mobile app and established a manufacturing plant soybean crush called Record SoyPlus product.

President and CEO Matt Carstens started over a year ago and said last year was an unprecedented year with a global pandemic, drought and derecho. Through these challenges Carstens notes they achieved their first year of profitability and are excited about the future of the farmer-owned company.
