As the coronavirus pandemic continues to change so does the services that certain organizations offer.
Perry Public Library Director Mary Murphy says they will determine how future reopening of even more services will look as it depends on the vaccination numbers and the positivity rate for the Perry zip code. The library opened back up in February for patrons and Murphy says they have recently brought back a few more things.
“As far as the services that we are opening up we have opened up all of our bathrooms and also put some chairs back. If you go into the library you will notice that not all the furniture is back. We have to kind of balance how much we can clean versus germs in the library.”
Murphy tells Raccoon Valley Radio the numbers of chairs that have returned are materials that they can easily clean. Murphy says over the next couple months there could be more of what patrons expect to see in the library, but some things are still a little ways off.
“I don’t think we are going to leaping towards face to face programming until the fall and that is all dependent upon the numbers.”
Murphy says she is in conversation with the Dallas County Health Department frequently to stay up to date with further guidance and safeguards.
