The Perry Chamber of Commerce along with other members of the community held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Perry Public Library yesterday.

The library underwent an extensive renovation through the past year and people were finally able to celebrate that properly. Library Director Mary Murphy says it felt good to have people come and check out the library.

“It felt good that we were open and people were being very respectful with wearing masks and socially distancing. We can be safe and be concerned about our fellow human beings and also enjoy the library. I was thrilled with the turnout at the library. It’s nice to recognize how much the library means to the community.”

The celebration with the ribbon cutting came during the middle of National Library Week that runs until the end of the week.
