Following the first mass COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Greene County, public health officials have made the full transition to open vaccines to most adults.

Greene County Public Health Director Becky Wolf says all county vaccine providers now have vaccines available for those who qualify. Wolf notes those 16 and older are eligible to get the Pfizer vaccine, while those 18 and older can get the Moderna or the one-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Locations with vaccine doses now available include Jefferson Hy-Vee Pharmacy, Medicap Pharmacy, McFarland Clinic, Greene County Family Medicine Clinic, and public health.

Wolf points out that the preference of which vaccine is offered will depend on brand availability. See the information below of how to sign up and receive a vaccine from the different local providers. Wolf reports nearly six times the amount of county residents have been fully vaccinated compared to the number of current positive COVID-19 cases. As of Tuesday, 4,910 people were fully vaccinated, which is about 22-percent of the total county population, compared to just 842 positive cases.
