Greene County plays high school boys’ soccer for the first time in two years when the Rams go to Perry this morning. Coach Carl Behne’s team meets the Blue Jays at 9 a.m., then plays at 10:30 vs. Des Moines North. Both are larger schools with proven boys’ soccer programs.

The Rams were Class 1A State Qualifiers in 2019 and had high hopes for a special 2020 season, but that didn’t happen due to the pandemic wiping out all Iowa high school sports last Spring. About half of that team is back, plus the addition of freshmen and sophomores have Coach Behne enthused about the season. Players from all four grades of high school are expected to take the pitch this morning for the Rams.
