After being closed for the majority of 2020, the Greene County Historical Museum is getting ready to reopen its doors to the public on May 1st.
Prior to opening back up, Executive Director Roger Aegerter is asking for the public’s help in donating some items from different decades for a new temporary exhibit. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio they are putting together an exhibit on the 1950s-1970s.
“We probably have 100 items so far, but we’re really looking for more stuff. I encourage anybody that has anything that relates to their childhood that they think is important for those decades of 50s, 60s and 70s. We can either donate it to the museum just like you would anything else or you can just give it to us on loan for one or two summers.”
Aegerter is asking people to bring their items to the museum in Jefferson Saturdays from 10am-noon and Wednesdays from 1-4pm. Deadline to drop off items is April 10th. Aegerter adds, the exhibit will be in the front room for at least this summer and possibly next summer.
