For those who are interested in taking storm spotter training classes there are still a few dates left to take part in.

Coming up tomorrow at 7 p.m will be the basic storm spotter training through the National Weather Service (NWS) in Des Moines. The class, which is done virtually, is taught by NWS meteorologists and lasts roughly 60-75 minutes.

The class will teach a variety of subjects including identifying and reporting severe weather, spotter safety, thunderstorm structure, among other things. There will also be an advanced spotter training class at 7 p.m. April 19th.
