The Greene County Coed Early Bird Track & Field Meet was held last night in Jefferson at Linduska Field. There were eight girls and eight boys teams competing with no team score kept. A very strong southerly wind all night made it difficult for runners, who finished into the wind, but teams were glad to get a meet in, especially since the 2020 season was completely wiped out by COVID-19. The temperature was in the low 70’s at the start of the meet.

The first outdoor meet of the season saw the Rams win five events for girls and four for boys. Greene County was second in three events for boys and one for girls. Girls and boys teams from Greene County, Manson-Northwest Webster, North Polk, Ogden, Ft. Dodge St. Edmond, South Hamilton, and Southeast Valley were there, as were the girls from Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center, and the boys from Algona High.
