Coach Pat Kruse takes his Paton-Churdan boys’ track & field squad to Audubon today for the Wheelers’ Early Bird Meet. There is no team scoring for the 16 teams involved, but it is an opportunity to compete without having to worry about team points.

Coach Kruse said he’s scheduled to take seven Rockets to the boys’ only event in Audubon. There was no Iowa high school track & field season a year ago due to COVID-19, so it’s been two years since the Rockets competed. The district doesn’t have a track, and with only seven boys, not all the events will be filled with P-C athletes.

After tonight, the Rockets are off until Tuesday, April 5 when the girls go to Gowrie for a meet hosted by Southeast Valley, and the boys travel to South Central Calhoun in Lake City the same day.
