Spring is officially here and practice for the Greene County high school golf seasons is underway. Activities Director Todd Gordon told Raccoon Valley Radio that Heath Telleen is the boys’ coach and Josh Carlson coaches the girls. Gordon said Telleen was scheduled to make the switch from coaching girls to boys in 2020, when Carlson was supposed to take over on the girls’ side, but the pandemic cancelled all Iowa high school spring sports a year ago.

Those changes are taking place now. “Heath Telleen is the boys’ coach and we’re anxious to see them get started. Jefferson-Scranton graduate Josh Carlson is the girls’ coach, and both are teachers at Greene County High School,” Gordon added.

Official golf practice in Iowa high schools could have started last week, but Greene County was on Spring Break, so the Rams are starting in earnest this week.
