Practice for some of Greene County High School’s Spring sports programs have been underway for awhile, while others are just getting started. Today is the first official day of girls’ soccer practice around the state, and Greene County begins the season with a new head coach. Peyton Paddock takes over a program that struggled to get victories in its first two years, then had its season cancelled altogether in 2020 due to the pandemic. A lack of numbers and lack of soccer experience were issues in the first two seasons of the program.
Boys and girls high school golf practices will get underway in earnest this week after the school district was on Spring Break last week. Heath Telleen is the boys’ coach and Josh Carlson coaches the girls.
The track and field teams have been at it for three weeks and each have had one indoor meet. The Rams are preparing to begin the outdoor season one week from today on March 29 in Jefferson at Linduska Field at the Greene County Coed Early Bird Meet.
