With the closing date for the City of Perry and Perry Economic Development’s purchase of Hotel Pattee and other assets, the first year of ownership is beginning to take shape.
Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson says the first year will be used as a way to get a grasp of how the business operates , which is something Peterson is hoping will run smoothly.
“Just really hope to move the hotel forward and come out of the pandemic, especially as (the) hospitality industry slowly starts to come back and hopefully more people start to travel and business groups start to go out again.”
Peterson tells Raccoon Valley Radio that another goal of his is to bring the hotel back to the community so it becomes an asset. Also, Peterson says another part of the goal is to make the hotel something the community can participate in.
Peterson notes that the plan is still on track for the closing date of the hotel on April 1st.
