Unemployment saw an increase in the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area for January.

According to Iowa Workforce Development, Guthrie County saw almost a two-percent increase in unemployment from December to 4.9-percent. Greene County had a 0.5-percent increase from December to January to 3.1-percent. Dallas County went up 0.1-percent from December to 3.1-percent.

Iowa’s unemployment also increased in January from December by 0.4-percent to 3.5-percent. The national unemployment rate saw a decrease in January from December of 0.4-percent to 6.3-percent.
