The girls state golf tournament will be happening on June 1st and 2nd, as ADM golfers will be hoping to qualify for the event. If they do, they will have an advantage with the tournament happening in Adel at the beautiful River Valley Golf Course, hosting all 3A teams and individuals.
The 18 hole course located just north of Adel has the potential to stretch up to over 6,600 yards and provides a lot of different looks for golfers. The Par 72 course features four Par 5’s, four Par 3’s and 10 Par 4’s. The fairways are usually wide and will reward quality tee shots, and the greens are traditionally in excellent condition, and also reward excellent putts as well.
It also has a lot of signature holes, including hole 18 that has a green way above the fairway and provides a difficult second shot and putting green, and hole 12, a tough par 3 that is surrounded by water and is a blind shot towards the hole. Hole 5 is a difficult par 5 that will give you the option to try to get over a large creek in two shots or shot an approach shot and get over the water that way.
It should be an excellent tournament and excellent facility, as ADM will have to have golfers qualify on their home course.
