Raccoon Valley Radio recently had a conversation with ADM activities director Rod Wiebers, and discussed about the building of a bond between a student athlete and coach. There are many important things, with Wiebers stating the building process as key;

” We’ve got to be able to build positive relationships with kids and by the end of it. They need to know that we care and value them as a person not just what do we get out of them from a performance standpoint.”

Wiebers also stated that if that relationship can’t be built and there’s not trust from each side, things might not work out too well.

” If a coach can’t come in and develop relationships with you know an athlete or someone that is involved in activities we’re not going to have the success that we want to have” Wiebers commented.

He also mentioned that winning is obviously important, and the proper treatment and coaching to these kids is the key to success, ” I’m somebody that wants us to push to new expectations and new standards and you know hopefully get to the point where we start talking about winning championships. To me that’s a byproduct of treating our student athletes the right way.”

That’s ADM activities director Rod Wiebers on the importance of building great relationships between student athletes and coaches.
