With the weather starting to get a little warmer and the spring season on its way, people may be wondering about open burning.
Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson says they have received questions about spring open burning, and while the weather outside has warmed up Peterson notes spring is not the season for burning in Perry.
“People have been asking about open burning and when open burning starts this spring and we actually do not allow open burning in the spring. Open burning is only in the fall.”
While there is currently no open burning, Peterson tells Raccoon Valley Radio there is another seasonal activity for Perry residents to take part in.
“We do start yard waste pickup and that yard waste schedule should be coming in your water bill for the April water bill.”
Perry offers yard waste pickup from the months of April into December and yard waste must be separated from regular garbage. For more information on yard waste pickup you can go here.
