Track & field is a sport where numbers count. There are 19 events in Iowa high school track & field is not being able to field all the events is like giving away points. Greene County head coach Chad Morton has 35 boys on the team, a number he figures should allow the Rams to enter all 19 events, should they choose to do so.
“We’re very happy with the number of boys out. After not being able to compete last year due to COVID-19, they guys are really looking forward to getting outside and competing. Like every year, we think we have some very strong events, but even those events that may not be the very best, will still enable the boys to go out and compete, and score points for our team.”
The first outdoor meet on the schedule is the Greene County Coed Early Bird Meet set for Monday, March 29 in Jefferson at Linduska Field.
