Greene County found out last Friday is has been assigned to Class 2A District 8 for the 2021 and ’22 high school football seasons. The Rams are in with Clarinda, Clarke (Osceola), Des Moines Christian, Red Oak, and Shenandoah. Class 2A programs play five district games and three non-district contests for an eight game regular season.

Head Coach Caden Duncan talked about the non-district schedule. “Now that we know our districts, we’re in the process of putting together our priority list of who we would like to play our non-district games with. If two teams put each other as the number one priority, then they will face each other. After that, the Iowa High School Athletic Association matches up teams with their priorities as best they can.”

Coach Duncan said he expects to find out more information this week about how the playoffs will look in 2021. He told Raccoon Valley Radio that what he knows at this time is that the first, second, third, and fourth place teams in each of the eight districts in 2A will be playoff qualifiers.
