As construction continues for the new Meadow View Elementary School for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District, a later start date in August will accommodate for the opening. 

ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe says the first day of school for the 2021-2022 school year will be August 30th which is later than normal as school would usually start around August 23rd or 24th.

“This is directly related to opening a new school building. So, we have Meadow View coming online and we felt like if we could have a few more days it would give us a little more margin as we try to occupy and move into a brand new building.”

In terms of how the project is developing, Dufoe tells Raccoon Valley Radio they are trying to make up for bad weather delays but there are contingent days built into the timeline, with the anticipated opening day in August remaining on target.
