The Dallas County Health Department announced earlier this week that additional priority groups can start receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.

According to county health officials additional eligibility includes Phase 1B Tiers 2-3 and those who are 16-years-old and older who have underlying health conditions which put them at an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19.

This new group of people is about 40,000 residents in Dallas County, consists of people ages 16-64 with underlying health conditions, people with disabilities living at home and  are dependent on attendant care staff, along with frontline essential workers in food, agricultural, distribution and manufacturing sectors who work or live in congregate settings that do not allow for social distancing.

Also, this includes government officials including staff to ensure continuity of government. For more clarification on whether you fall into one of the tiers you can go here and here.
