Perry Lutheran Homes and the Perry Chamber of Commerce welcomed a new location Tuesday morning with the ribbon cutting for Eden Acres.

The purchase of the building, formerly known as the Rowley Masonic Community, occurred this past November. Perry Lutheran Homes CEO Reverend Max Phillips talked about the facility being ideal for the elderly population.

“It’s a wonderful building. It has a great design. It really is built with the idea of the residents in mind and it offers for them I think just really a state of the art personal touch. A community really like none other. So we were really pleased to have the opportunity to continue that legacy that the Mason’s built into it of having a different, special, caring touch.”

While the ribbon cutting has officially taken place Phillips said the hopes are to open up as quickly as they can after COVID-19 which that process has already started. Also, Phillips told Raccoon Valley Radio another main point is to make the campus intergenerational.

“There is a great joy that comes from having all ages together and especially for those elders who also often are isolated but a youngster in their midst is really a joy to behold and for those youngsters, grandpas and grandmas all around.”

Phillips said there is the possibility of having the Acorns and Oaks Daycare growing or expanding into the new Eden Acres Campus.
