As Greene County’s COVID-19 positivity rate continues to be at low levels, more facilities that were once closed are starting to open again.
The Gardens Assisted Living in Jefferson is allowing visitors once again. Director Brianne Fister says there is a limit of two guests per tenant and only two guests are allowed in the building at the same time. The visitors must go directly to the tenant’s apartment, after they have been screened for COVID-19. Indoor visitors must call to schedule an appointment for a 30-minute time slot, which that information can be found below. She describes how pleased she is to be able to offer in-person visits again.
“It’s so exciting because families get to reunite with their loved ones in their apartment, which is considered their home. This is safe, sanitized and it’s just really exciting for everyone. Excitement and some relief that their family members are safe and they can see them, and that they have been well taken care of, and just lots of kudos to the Gardens staff.”
Fister points out all staff and residents that wanted to receive a vaccine have been fully vaccinated, with the help of Walgreens as their provider. She notes that outdoor patio, window visits and phone calls are still the preferred method to visit a loved one.
