Dallas Center – Grimes boys basketball will be looking for a good practice today as they get prepared for their first round matchup tomorrow against Davenport Assumption in Des Moines. A 4 vs. 5 matchup in the 3A quarterfinals, it has the potential to be the closest and most exciting game of the four matchups.

It should be a good battle between the Mustangs and Knights, as both teams have faced premier competition throughout the season, which should leave them battle tested for this week’s tournament. Senior Emarion Ellis has been great for Davenport Assumption has he averages nearly 17 points per night and really knows how to score in a wide variety of ways. DCG has been great defensively during their substate stretch, not giving up more that 40 points to any of their opponents.
