The Greene County High School track & Field squads have had five practices, four of them outdoors on the Linduska Field track in Jefferson. Early next week when the first meet of the season is held, it will be indoors at the U. of Northern Iowa for the A.D. Dickinson Relays. The girls compete on Monday and the boys go to Cedar Falls on Tuesday. The action inside the UNI-Dome is the only indoor meet on Greene County’s girls and boys schedule.
Girls’ head coach Derek Merk has entered the 60 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, the 4 x 200 meter relay, 4 x 400 meter relay, and the shot put.
Boys’ head coach Chad Morton has the Rams in the high jump, long jump, shot put, 60 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 1,600 meter run, 3,200 meter run, 60 meter high hurdles, the 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 meter relays.
The Rams are scheduled to open the outdoor season in Jefferson at Linduska Field at the Greene Count Early Bird Coed Meet on Monday, March 29.
