Greene County High School track & field practice began on Monday. On Tuesday, the girls and boys’ squads were outside on the Linduska Field track for practice with about 90% of the track clear of snow. By the end of practice Tuesday, there was barely a trace of the white stuff due to well above average temperatures.
The Rams hope the weather is this good on March 29 when they are scheduled to host the Greene County Early Bird Coed Meet in Jefferson at Linduska Field. First on the schedule is the A.D. Dickinson Relays in Cedar Falls on Monday, March 8 for girls and Tuesday, March 9 for boys. The meet is not allowing fans due to COVID-19 concerns either day and the field of competitors will be smaller than most years. Nonetheless, the indoor meet will give the coaches and athletes an opportunity to see what the Rams can do on the track & in the field.
