Greene County Public Health has announced the next priority group of individuals who can qualify to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
Director Becky Wolf says beginning Monday, March 8th, they will start taking appointments for those in Phase 1B Tier 2, which includes individuals with disabilities who are living at home and are dependent on attendant care staff, the attendant care staff member or if that person is a family member, along with frontline essential workers in food, agriculture, distribution, and manufacturing sectors where social distancing is not feasible, and migrant workers who live in congregate settings.
Wolf points out that public health will only be vaccinating those individuals, along with continuing to vaccinate anyone 65 and older, and individuals in Phase 1A and 1B Tier 1. She notes the other vaccine providers in the county will only vaccinate those 65 and older. Wolf adds they are receiving an average of 100 vaccine doses per week, but have administered a total of 1,991 doses and 452 have completed both series, as of Wednesday.
