Polls are open for residents of the Panorama Community School District to decide if its Physical Plant and Equipment Levy of 67-cents per $1,000 valuation will be continued for the next 10 years.

Superintendent Shawn Holloway says the levy is one of the key factors that allows the school district to be successful.

“For the school district, this is really important because it generates about 350 to 400 thousand dollars annually. What we want our voters to understand is that this is not a new levy, this is a continuation of a levy that’s been in place for at least the last 10 years.  What this really is, and the easiest way for people to wrap their heads around the physical plant and equipment levy, is any item that you can see or touch on or around our property have more than likely been purchased through PPEL funds.”

Two polling locations are available. In Guthrie County, voters may submit their votes at Veteran’s Auditorium in Panora. In Dallas County, the Lions Club in Linden will be available for vote. The polls close at 8 p.m.
