Tyson Foods recently announced that 35 plant locations have been recognized by the North American Meat Institute (NAMI) for dedication on making an environmental impact, and the plant in Perry was among them.
The Tyson plant in Perry was among the locations to receive the honor which recognizes the company’s dedication to continued environmental improvement through means such as the development and implementation of environmental management systems.
Tyson in Perry is among five plants in Iowa to receive the recognition. The awards are designated in four tiers which recognize the level of commitment, ranging from tier 1, dealing with compliance policies; and tier 4, representing the highest level of environmental management. The Perry plant is recognized as a tier 3.
