Friday, February 26th

9:54am: An officer responded to a Residential Burglary Alarm at 707 West Harrison Street. The officer located the owner inside, who advised he had accidentally tripped the alarm. He was fine.

1:45pm: Officers performed a Funeral Escort.

4:06pm: Joanne Mahoney reported two stray dogs in the 600 Block of South Chestnut Street. The officer did not locate the reported animals.

4:14pm: Patrick Monahan reported a Speeding Vehicle approaching Jefferson from the north on Hwy. 4. The officers set up in the area, but did not witness any infractions with the vehicle.

9:35pm: A Traffic Stop at 220th and Elm Street resulted in Jacob Kersey of Jefferson being cited for, “Operation without Registration.”

Saturday, February 27th

1:15am: An officer noticed a possible leaking Nitrogen Tank at 900 East Hwy. 30. The officer advised a Key Holder for the business of his findings.

2:31am: Kay Sayre reported Loud Music in the 1300 Block of Westwood Drive. The officer checked the area, but did not locate any loud noise in the area.

8:17am: A female spoke with an officer and advised she had been asked to leave a friend’s residence she had been staying at. She advised she was now Homeless and looking for assistance. The officer put her contact with a local Clergy group that works with the Homeless Coalition.

11:29am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 300 Block of South Wilson Ave.

2:43pm: An officer assisted Jefferson Fire and Alliant Energy with a reported Gas Leak at 101 East Lincoln Way Street. The area was temporarily closed and evacuated until the issue was corrected.

3:13pm: Elaine Wiggins reported a dead bird in her yard at 203 West State Street.

3:34pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 500 Block of South Chestnut Street.

7:52pm: Alysha Dehote reported Harassment from an ex-boyfriend at 402 West Russell Street. She asked the officer to advise him he was no longer welcome to contact her, which the officer did.

8:57pm: Stephanie Coil reported Harassment from a neighbor in the 500 Block of East Lincoln Way Street. The officer spoke to both parties and advised them to leave the other alone.

Sunday, February 28th

12:06am: A deputy requested assistance from an officer after a reported break-in at 1835 220th Street. The officer checked Jefferson for the subject, but did not locate him.

2:01am: Samantha Jones reported the Theft of her wallet from 777 Wild Rose Lane. The casino provided footage of the event and the suspect’s vehicle information to the officer. The subject was later arrested in Glidden by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and transported back to Jefferson by a deputy. John Henry Hironymus, 64 of Fair Oaks, CA. was arrested for, “Theft 4th Degree – Serious.”

9:50am: A business owner in the 100 Block of East State Street reported she was currently out of town, but had noticed her back door had blown open while checking her cameras at the business. The officer checked the business and secured the door.

3:45pm: An officer responded to the Rec Center at 204 West Harrison Street, after several 911 Hang Up Calls from the location. The officer learned a young child had been playing on the payphone at the facility.

5:15pm: An officer was requested at 204 West Harrison Street for a reported Assault between two male subjects inside the facility. The officer is investigating.

5:38pm: Nellie Petterson spoke to an officer concerning a Civil Issue with H & R Block. She was advised to speak to an attorney.

6:15pm: Austin Davidson caught a Stray Dog at 507 West State Street. The officer placed the dog in the Animal Holding Facility.

8:18pm: Penny Kious requested an officer at 509 South Olive Street for harassment from a neighbor. The officer is investigating the reported event.
