Greene County Public Health is continuing to administer COVID-19 vaccines and over 1,700 doses have been given out so far.
Director Becky Wolf describes the feedback and reaction those vaccinated individuals have when they come in for the shot.
“It’s heartwarming to see these people coming in and out, I mean they’re giddy, they make a sigh of relief, there’s tears in the eyes. They’re just so grateful to be able to get their vaccine.”
Wolf continues to ask for everyone to be patient as they work through their waiting lists.
“We know we don’t have enough vaccine to get to everybody all at once. But please be patient and our goal is to get vaccine to anybody that wants a vaccine over the next few months.”
Wolf urges those who are waiting to get a vaccine or someone who wants one but doesn’t qualify yet to continue to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Iowa Department of Public Health guidelines and the county-wide mask mandate that is in place until March 31st. There are three ways to request a vaccine through public health for anyone 65 and older, which can be found below.
