Over 100 people attended the 2021 Greene County Cattlemen’s Association banquet.
Attendees enjoyed a steak dinner grilled by the Cattlemen and sides that were catered by the Lidderdale Country Store. The event also included recognizing the 2020 scholarship winners which were Cole Betts, Izzy Bravard, Paige Heaning, Ellie Madson and Tieryn Tucker. The evening wrapped up with the 2021 trophy auction. The auction raised $22,800 among the 47 items. Every year the organization honors the top donor with a traveling trophy, which Landus Cooperative claimed after donating $2,725.
Greene County Cattlemen Association President Justin Robbins appreciated the ongoing community support that businesses, groups and individuals gave during their annual event.
“It’s great to know that we come together one evening a year as a whole, and we’re able to generate a large amount of money to be able to support the kids that we do. Whether it be through FFA jackets, or scholarship programs, or the different kids that show at the fair and any way we can support them. We really enjoy doing that. We love grilling at the schools. Even though it was one of those years that it was a little tough to get through, you know in the agriculture world people really just continue to push forward and persevere, and it’s great to know that I’m part of that family.”
Last year, the cattlemen donated $18,243 to local organizations and events.
