The competitions for high school large group speech are done for the year and for one Adel-DeSoto-Minburn group, it culminated in an All-State nomination.
The ADM group improvisation act “Wheeler,” which consisted of senior Kenna Wheeler, and juniors Bailey Christensen and Dylan Ingram received an All-State nomination. While there isn’t going to be an All-State festival this year ADM speech coach Jacque Seidl is proud of the students.
“From their performance I think that one thing we can say is that the three judges who judged all of our performances are veteran judges so they know what an all-state performance looks like and so I just think that, that shows you how strong of a performance this group was able to put together maybe in the most unusual of circumstances.”
Despite there being no festival, Seidl says if there is any All-State nominations from the upcoming individual speech competitions there might be a showcase of the top performers from large group and individual All-State nominations planned for later this year.
