A reminder that Greene County High School is competing in the Iowa High School Speech Association District Individual contest today.

Speech Coach Kelley Gray says 12 students are traveling to Perry High School for a “mini-contest” and performing in 15 events, including acting, storytelling, reviewing, poetry, prose, solo musical theater, spontaneous speaking, radio news, and expository address. In order to qualify for the state competition, students must receive a Division I-rating from the judge. Due to the pandemic, there will not be an all-state festival, but recognition will still be given.

Raccoon Valley Radio will announce the results from today’s contest next week.
