Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers officially wrapped up their winter sports this last week, with the girls and boys basketball teams along with the wrestling team finding some success this season.

The girls team finished 9-15 and had some big upset wins over state ranked teams in Boone and Winterset at home. They also got a school record 37 points out of senior Grace Hardcastle in a victory over Carlisle back in January.

The boys team finished 10-13 and had a special year which included wild last second victories over Winterset and Bondurant-Farrar as well.

On the mat, ADM was able to send two to the state tournament in Jake Alexander and Ben Smith. They also had a wild year where they missed a good portion of wrestling in December and then had a ton of matches in January. They are expected to return the majority of the roster this upcoming year.

One of the biggest takeaways of the 2020-21 winter sports season was the kids got the opportunity to play and got through the whole season, something that should definitely be commended. The spring sports season is just around the corner and obviously there will be many athletes from the winter sports that will be competing in the spring events as well.
