A contract agreement has been reached between the Greene County Education Association and the Greene County School Board.

GCEA Co-President Heath Telleen presented their initial offer to the Board at their regular meeting on February 17th. GCEA’s proposal was a base salary increase of $725 to $33,100, and an increase in longevity from three to four-percent, for a $324 increase to the current base. The total district cost was 3.94-percent, which assumed that the district would cover the increase cost of insurance.

The Board then made it’s counter offer on February 22nd. The Board proposed a $100 increase to the base salary to $32,475, with a total district cost increase of 2.19-percent.

The two sides reached a tentative agreement of increasing the base salary of $385 to $32,760, and a longevity increase to 3.5-percent. The total district cost would increase to 2.99-percent for $244,644. Both sides are expected to ratify the agreement for the 2021-2022 school year, which the Board will consider at their March 10th regular meeting.
