Even though the weather is still in the thick of winter, the seasons will soon change and severe weather will soon pick back up.
To help individuals interested in learning more about severe weather, several free storm-spotter training sessions are scheduled in Dallas County. For those who would like to attend storm spotter training Dallas County is offering multiple opportunities to do so through virtual training this spring. Sessions begin March 11th, and all of them will be done via virtual training, with the basic spotter training class there are five dates and participants only need to attend one basic course.
There will also be an advanced spotter training offered at 7 p.m. April 19th for those who would like to continue in their storm-spotting training. The classes are free and everyone is welcome to attend but registration is required.
The Raccoon Valley Radio Network Severe Weather Action Team also provides live coverage whenever there is severe weather in Dallas, Greene and Guthrie counties. Live coverage continues until severe weather moves out of the area or drops below severe levels.
