A press release from the Drake Relays on Monday announced the 2021 Relays would be held and there would be high events for girls and boys. The release noted that all high school events would be on Thursday, April 22, tentatively from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. with strict COVID-19 protocols enforced. A reduction in the number of events and how many qualifiers per event are possibilities. More information will be released in the future.

Chad Morton is the head boys’ track & field coach at Greene County High. He told Raccoon Valley Radio the Drake Relays are special and he’s glad to hear there will be a Relays and there will be high school events. He understands the look will be different, but after having no Drake Relays in 2020, the coach is excited about the news.

The release from Drake U. stated decisions and guidelines regarding spectators and ticketing are still being made.
