A winter storm warning has been issued for the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area.

According to the National Weather Service, a winter storm warning will be in effect for Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties until 6 p.m. today. Snow accumulations are expected between 5 to 8 inches with a wintry mix of freezing rain and slick road conditions possible.

Snow accumulations are expected to diminish quickly by late afternoon.

Projected snowfall totals are higher north of Interstate-80. Motorists are advised that road conditions will be slick throughout most of the state Sunday.
