The ongoing drought plaguing the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area continues.
According to the United States Drought Monitor, the majority of Greene County is under moderate drought, while the southeast corner is abnormally dry. Guthrie County is split almost perfectly down the middle, with the western half in a moderate drought and the eastern is abnormally dry. After being under no drought status for a couple weeks, the northwest portion of Dallas County is now abnormally dry, while the remainder of the area is still under no drought.
The National Weather Service reports that in the past week, Jefferson received 4.2 inches of new snow amounting to .08 inches of precipitation. Perry received 2.1 inches of new snow for .06 inches of precipitation. There was no report available for Guthrie Center.
